TV series 30 x 3 min.

Target group: 6 - 10

6 to10 year olds recognise themselves in these one-on-one conversations between kids from a primary school in Rotterdam.

A Sjaarloos episode is a conversation between two kids, or more precisely, two heads. The kids know each other from a primary school in the part of Rotterdam called Charlois, or Sjaarloos in the local accent. There are ten kids. They all speak the local accent, sometimes with a hint of their parents’ ethnic background. The conversations take place at the kitchen table, in the schoolyard, on the waterside, at the zoo, any place where kids meet. They talk about their differences, about the things they worry about, about blowing bubbles in your chocolate milk, religion, breeding tadpoles, quarrelling and about grandmothers.
